balancing act

Western Michigan University; Kalamazoo, MI

Performing a dichotic organ program with Allen Bryce Young and Steven Flick. Throwing the audience against two walls: Baroque and Contemporary organ music. There will be Bach and there will also be jamming foam underneath organ key desks. There will be intricate, artful counterpoint and there will be half-pulled stops and micro tones. Should be a fun concert!

Warbler's Roost Residency

South River, ON, Canada

I'm excited to be part of the Artist Residency Program at Warbler's Roost near South River, ON, Canada.  I've recently found out that South River is where the Shields family homesteaded when moving to Canada so I expect this experience to be especially enriching.  The site is also near the Screaming Heads of Midlothian by Peter Camani which I can't wait to experience.

Pareidolia premiere

Dalton Recital Hall 8:00pm EST

Instrumentation is one piano four hands and was composed with elements of indeterminacy. Using dice to decide multiple elements of the piece results in randomly generated music. It offers a medium for listener to latch on to musical patterns that weren't intentionally created, but rather formed by chance and enhanced/codified through performance. Each listener, armed with different tastes and preferences, should take away different recurring elements from the piece.
